The main focal areas of study in my lab are fish ecology and land-water interactions. We are ecologist interested in understanding the linkages and interactions between the terrestrial landscape, physiochemical properties of aquatic systems, and their biota within the context of conservation and management in a changing global environment. The current dominant theme of the fish ecology focal area is native species conservation and the response of populations to environmental stressors. The dominant theme of the land-water interactions focal area is landscape limnology - which aims to improve our understanding of the role of inland waters in macroscale nutrient cycling and the ecological significance of drivers interacting across spatial and temporal scales on ecosystem properties.
